COME JOIN THE FINEST ARMY OF THE WORLD...
"BE A PROUD INDIAN"!
During 1st World War (1914-1918), Headquarters Recruiting Zone came into existence and recruiting in central India was carried out by Recruiting Office, Ajmer while on tours. Status was upgraded to Zone (WW-I & WW-II) and downgraded to Area Recruiting Office as per requirement. Consequent to formation of Madhya Pradesh by merging princely states of central India and introduction of Recruitable Male Population system of recruitment, a need was felt for separate Recruiting Zone in Madhya Pradesh. Accordingly, Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Jabalpur was raised in Jul 84 and given the responsibility of recruitment from Madhya Pradesh. After the creation of Chhattisgarh state, both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were placed under Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Jabalpur.
Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Jabalpur has been entrusted with the mandate of recruitment of Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (OR) into the Indian Army from the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It is responsible for planning, coordinating and conduct of recruitment rallies in these states. Five Army Recruiting Offices (AROs) are under its command for conducting the recruitment rallies in each state turn wise contingent upon the consent and cooperation of civil administration to reach out to eligible candidates and at the same time to ensure just, fair and equal opportunity to all.
It is our Dharma to select the best candidate from those meeting the stipulated physical, medical and educational criteria. Fundamentals of the recruitment that we believe in are “SUCHANA, SUVIDHA AND SURAKSHA”. Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Jabalpur undertakes all the measures to achieve transparency, fair selection, candidate friendly recruitment process and ensures credibility of the process. Open recruitment rally is conducted in front of the general public/media, manned by two recruiting teams; each headed by a Director (ARO), medical officers, observed by independent officers detailed by local army formation Headquarters to ensure just, equal, fair and credible recruitment process. The candidate is also continuously apprised of his performance at each stage of the recruitment process. We would like to assure the environment, that the selection system is totally merit based and transparent. There is no place for any agent or tout. It is our endeavour to curb and eradicate the nefarious activities of the touts by constantly and continuously scrutinising, reviewing and updating our drills and procedures.
